Junior forward Jenna Coviello (19 points, 7 rebounds) and senior forward Amy Peterson (13 points) sparked the host Lions (5-2, 2-1 Wachusett D) past the Panthers (5-3, 1-2). Coviello scored 14 points in the first half as West Boylston opened up a 34-21 lead at the break, while Peterson had a key 3-point play early in the fourth quarter. Gabby Hebert paced Ayer-Shirley with 15 points - she scored five points to spark a 7-0 run to open the fourth quarter and pull the Panthers within six, 40-34 - Peterson broke up the run with her 3-point play. Anna Peck chipped in with 12 points for Ayer-Shirley.
