Devin Farnsworth won four events (50 freestyle, 100 butterfly, 200 medley relay, 200 free relay), qualifying for the sectionals and state championships in the 50 free with a time of 1:06.95, to lead the visiting Blue Devils past the Wildcats in the season-opening meet for both schools at Mount Wachusett CC in Gardner. Leominster senior Christine Legsdin qualified for sectionals and states with a 1:06.95 in the 100 backstroke. For Gardner, senior Sarah Robertson won the 200 individual medley, 100 breaststroke and 400 freestyle relay.
