Ashley Thompson (26 points, 10 rebounds) scored eight points in the fourth quarter for the host Beavers (18-2), who erased most of a 12-point deficit before coming up short in a State Vocational semifinal. Kaitlin Hannan scored seven of her 13 points in the final quarter and Kelly Ney (6 rebounds, 4 steals, 4 assists) scored her four points in the fourth for Valley Tech. Greater New Bedford is 16-4.
