Shane Combs rushed for four touchdowns, while Drew Smiley threw three TD passes as the No. 4 Pioneers (3-1) thumped the No. 3 Chieftains (3-1) and ended Nashoba's 29-game winning streak. St. John's was the last team to defeat the Chieftains, beating them, 31-21, in the Division 1 Super Bowl in 2010. Combs rushed for scores of 3, 9, 1 and 5 yards, while Smiley found Davon Jones for a 20-yard score and then connected with T.J. Kelly for a 28-yard touchdown as the clock expired in the first half to put St. John's up, 28-14. Smiley and Jones also connected on a 38-yard touchdown in the third quarter. Matt Sabourin had two touchdowns (9 and 3 yards) for Nashoba, and Eli Williams had a 3-yard score for the Chieftains.
