St. Bernard’s 40, Nipmuc 19

Senior Sean Maki rushed for 226 yards and three touchdowns on just eight carries and added a 10-yard TD pass to Hector Delgado to lead the Bernardians (4-0, 2-0 Dual Valley Conference) past the Warriors (1-3, 1-1) in Fitchburg. Maki opened the scoring with a 40-yard touchdown in the first quarter and added long scoring runs of 80 and 64 yards in the second quarter as St. Bernard's took a 27-19 lead at the half. The Bernardians put the game away with a pair of fourth quarters, with Kenny Delgado taking it in from 11 yards out and Zach Merchant recovering a fumble in the end zone to cap the scoring. Delgado also had a key interception early in the fourth quarter. Kyle Braile scored on a 60-yard touchdown in the first quarter and added a 29-yard rushing touchdown in the second quarter for Nipmuc. Nick Greer caught a 47-yard touchdown pass from Jared Plumb for the Warriors.
