The Lions got off to a blazing start, scoring 26 points in the first quarter to blow past defending Division 5 Super Bowl champion Upper Cape Tech. Quarterback Ryan Barabe threw for two touchdowns, one for 18 yards to Matt Soucie and the other a 70-yard pass to Brady Jones. Diego Meritus rushed for two touchdowns in the third quarter to pad the Pope John Paul II lead.
