Shepherd Hill continued its march through North Worcester County teams last night with a 28-13 victory over Gardner at Watkins Field. After a win last week over Fitchburg, the 2-0 Rams dispatched of the (0-2) Wildcats and now await a big match-up with another North Worcester County team, number one ranked Leominster in Dudley next week. Unveiling a powerful running attack, Shepherd Hill picked up 361 yards on the ground behind the solid one-two punch of junior quarterback Drew Jean-Guillaume (16-181 yards, 2 TDs) and classmate Brady Ravenelle (10-117 yards). “We have some very good running backs and I’d like them to show their things more,” said Shepherd Hill coach Chris Lindstrom. “This is a huge win for us, we’ve played against two teams with great coaching and tough kids. We feel very good right now.” The Rams also got touchdowns from Zack Goddard and Jake Gelb, while Isaiah Corley and Robbie Brooks also contributed to the yardage. Gardner scored on its opening possession, grinding out much of the first quarter, with Devin Williams scoring from a yard out.
