Despite being down a point with 2:36 to play, there was no panic in the Northbridge huddle. The Rams marched 65 yards in 12 plays, including converting a huge fourth-and-8 play, to score the winning touchdown on a 25-yard pass from sophomore quarterback Koby Schofer to Chandler Brooks with 30 seconds to play, giving Northbridge a 29-22 win over Hoosac Valley in the Division 5 state semifinal Saturday at Doyle Field. The Rams (9-2) have won seven straight games and will face unbeaten Bishop Fenwick in the Division 5 Super Bowl at Gillette Stadium on Dec. 7. It was an unlikely scenario after a Week 3 loss to Auburn that saw the Rams drop to 1-2. These kids have battled all season, so we were confident we could get this done, Northbridge coach Ken LaChapelle said. We dont make things easy on ourselves or the people who watch us, but we find a way to get things done. We did it again (Saturday). The kids showed a lot of character.
