Senior captain Tori Flahive hit a 3 with 13 second left to give the Rangers a 50-49 lead before a free throw iced their season-opening victory. Fellow senior captain Mia Natale hit 3 of 4 four throws early in the fourth quarter to give Westboro its first lead of the second half. Kaylie Doherty's nine points led the Rangers. Tarah Crowe had 19 points and Allyson Esielionis 18 for the Bernardians.
