Senior captain Steve Cariglio had a hat trick for the Rockets (0-2) but the Spartans (1-1) scored three shorthanded goals in a span of 1:33 of the second period to erase a 3-2 deficit in the consolation game of the Dana Willard Christmas Tournament at Horgan Rink. Senior Branden Disilveira got Auburn on the board with his first varsity goal 13 seconds into the second, while Adam Clark and Cariglio scored at 3:50 and 4:51 to give the Rockets a 3-2 lead. East Longmeadow responded with four straight goals to close out the period. Cariglio scored at 8:36 of the third, then completed the hat trick with 9 seconds left after Auburn pulled its goalie.
