Junior outfielder Nick Latham delivered the win for the No. 4 Eagles (9-1) when he hit a two-run walkoff home run in the bottom for the ninth. Tyler McKeon had three hits and scored for St. John's, while P.J. Browne had a two-run single in the fifth and Jake Rosen and Scott Manea each had RBI singles in the third as the Pioneers (9-3) built a 4-0 lead. Browne had a strong start for St. John's, ranked second in the Telegram & Gazette Top 10, while Dan Barlok had two strong innings of relief and pitched out a bases loaded jam with no outs in the eighth, getting two strikeouts and a groundout to the mound to end it.
