Luxury Home of the Week: A Beacon Hill town house with a ‘library wall’ for $6.3 million

Nestled in the heart of Beacon Hill, this town house was designed by — and was then home to — notable New England architect Richard Arnold Fisher.

The Flat of the Hill home’s longtime current owners carefully restored and updated the property, according to the listing agent, Allison Mazer of Compass. If features a garden terrace and roof deck with views of the State House and Boston skyline.

Brimming with natural light that pours in from double-height oriel windows, the town house at 32 Lime St. also features six fireplaces. The reception hall offers a powder room and leads to the dining room, which looks out over a terrace.

The kitchen, which is outfitted with custom cabinetry, granite countertops, and high-end appliances, sits alongside a casual living and dining area with its own brick terrace.

The second and third floors house what Mazer called the home’s “showpiece,” a lofty great room with a library wall, a minstrel gallery, a massive fireplace, and a wall of windows.

The home’s two fourth-floor bedrooms feature fireplaces, baths, and linen rooms. The fifth-floor master suite includes a walk-in closet and a bath with a skylight. Two other bedrooms sit across the hall from the master, which Mazer said could easily serve as an office, sitting room, or nursery if they buyers wanted a “full-floor master retreat.”

The town house has five bedrooms, 4.5 baths, and 5,194 square feet of living space. It sits on 0.3 of an acre and is on the market for $6,350,000.
