Listed: A Taunton Victorian on the National Register of Historic Places for $619,900

It’s not every day you see a home with its own Wikipedia page, but such is the case when said property is on the National Register of Historic Places. The ornate home at 1150 Middleboro Ave. in Taunton is indeed historic. Also called the N.S. Williams House, the property is named for its original owner. 

According to the National Register, Williams was a rural mills operator at Taunton’s King’s Furnace. It is estimated that he built the home sometime between 1854 and 1858, and it’s considered a “fine example of a cross-gabled Italiante Style house.”

Today, the restored home is on the market for $619,900. Susan Malloch Taylor of Proline Realty listed the home on May 10. It includes details such as 16-foot coffered ceilings, new windows, interior leaded-glass windows, hidden window latches and floor panels, and intricate millwork.

The home sits on a 0.99-acre lot, welcoming visitors with ornate columns and bracketing on the mahogany front porch. There are four bedrooms, three full bathrooms, and one half bathroom in 3,472 square feet of living space. The total does not include 1,100 square feet of finished living space on the third floor. On the first floor, there’s a bedroom, as well as a kitchen with stainless-steel appliances, a walk-in pantry, skylights, and a 14-foot island topped with cherry wood from the property.
