A walkway of paving stones leads to a sleek front porch that serves as the welcome mat for this newly built Colonial on Aerial Street, an appropriately named short and hilly dead-end in the Arlington Heights neighborhood.

The front door opens into a narrow hallway formed by the main stairwell on the left and the interior wall of the two-car attached garage. Moving down the hallway and on the right, there is a mudroom with tile flooring lined with shelving and benches for changing footwear that connects to the garage. Opposite the mudroom and across the entry hallway is a half bath that features a single vanity with a super-white dolomite natural stone counter and Shaker-style cabinet.

Some homes use walls to delineate spaces. Here, the developers use a coffered ceiling and waist-high wainscot to separate the living and dining areas from the kitchen. The focus of the living room is a gas fireplace with a Bianco Carrara marble surround and lighted glass shelving. The dining area is positioned directly next to a window.

The elaborate ceiling with recessed lighting gives way to a smooth one with pendant lighting in the amply sized kitchen. The ceiling height on this floor is 8 feet, and the flooring throughout most of the first level is hardwood.

The second floor offers four bedrooms, a laundry room, 9-foot ceilings, and two full baths. The main bath features a shower/tub combination, a double vanity with a white granite counter, and flooring of Venato porcelain tile.

The master suite features crown molding, recessed lighting, a walk-in closet with a window, and several windows, including a cluster that perfectly frames the headboard.

The master bath has a double vanity with a Borghini Arabascato quartz counter and Shaker-style cabinetry painted a light gray. The multi-head shower with a rainshower head sits behind frameless glass. The flooring in the shower is a gray basketweave dolomite, but the surround is the same quartz that tops the counter. The bath also has a linen closet.

A doorway off the hall leads to the walk-up, unfinished attic, which runs the length of the house and is well-insulated.

The finished lower level has 8-foot ceilings, full-size windows, vinyl flooring that mimics wood, and a half bath with a super-white dolomite stone counter and a Shaker-style cabinet. Sliders open to a covered patio and the backyard of the 0.18-acre lot.
