Biggest sales: A three-bedroom Commonwealth Avenue duplex for $4.4 million

The priciest sale last week on the Multiple Listing Service was a duplex in a brownstone on one of Boston’s most famous streets.
The home has floor-to-ceiling windows to take in the Boston skyline and the tree-lined Commonwealth Avenue Mall.
Beth Dickerson of Gibson Sotheby’s International Realty sold 183 Commonwealth Ave., Unit 4, for $4,440,000 on Thursday, Nov. 14.
The Back Bay condo measures 2,539 square feet, offering three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, one half bathroom, three fireplaces, and elevator access to both floors.
On the third level, there is a full wall of built-ins, and French doors open into a master suite that features a bay window with electric shades, a fireplace, high ceilings, and a walk-in closet. The master bath offers a custom vanity, a glass shower with a rainshower head, and statuary marble.
The fourth floor is the main level. It boasts a wide living room; a dining room; a renovated kitchen with marble counters, high-end appliances, and wine storage; and two bedrooms with a shared bath.
The eight-room residence also came with one deeded parking space.
