Will buyers flip for Aly Raisman’s childhood home?

A builder bought and renovated the Needham home, which is now priced at $2,499,000.

You won’t have any trouble convincing your party guests that you own the childhood home of a three-time Olympic gold medalist.

The address says it all.

The home, 21 Aly Raisman Way in Needham, is listed for $2,499,000. The house had been put up for sale in 2013 and “sold to a high-end builder, Speedwagon Partners,” said Gary Kaufman of Keller Williams Realty, the listing agent. “They renovated the entire home, and they also spun off an extra lot, where they built a new house.” (The new home is at 7 Aly Raisman Way.)

With the renovation also came a new street. Before, the home had a long driveway that connected to South Street. When they put in the second house, they built a private street for the two houses, which is still connected to South Street. The town thought Aly Raisman Way was a fitting name. “She’s quite a hero in town,” Kaufman said.

The 9,060-square-foot home was built in 1919 and offers five bedrooms, three full baths, and three half baths. Enter through a foyer with custom molding, where you will then find a dining room, a living room, and a library. The kitchen boasts high-end appliances, tall cabinets, and a center island.

Upstairs, the master suite offers custom closets, a fireplace, and built-ins. On the third floor, there are two home offices (including one with a secret entrance), as well as media and game rooms and a wet bar.

One area that has not been updated, according to the listing, is the basement, which has the gym where Raisman began her training.

The home sits on a 1.56-acre lot with landscaped grounds and a tennis/basketball court.
