Pass or pick? Price reduced on the Charlestown home of ex-Celtic Kelly Olynyk
The three-bedroom, 3.5-bath home is on the market for $1,599,000.

The asking price for the Charlestown Navy Yard town house of former Celtic Kelly Olynyk was cut by $76,000 recently, but the new figure may still be too out of reach for most buyers to take their shot.
Olynyk, who signed a four-year, $50 million deal with the Miami Heat in 2017, listed his Charlestown estate with Douglas Elliman Real Estate toward the end of July for $1,675,000, realtor George Sarkis said. The waterfront property, located at 57 Constellation Wharf, is now on the market for $1,599,000.
The 2,522-square-foot, three-level home was constructed in 1987, Sarkis said, but Olynyk made several updates, including new hardwood flooring, new air-conditioning, modern light fixtures, and a surround sound system.
The best aspects of the three-bedroom, 3.5-bath are the two private decks that offer unobstructed views of the water, Sarkis said.
Other features of the modern contemporary-styled home include a den/second living room with a home theater system, a full laundry room with storage, stainless-steel appliances, two wood-burning fireplaces, a covered parking spot, and a master bedroom with a walk-in closet and built-in safe.
The estate is in a gated community that offers 24-hour security. All residents can take the Massachusetts General Hospital shuttle for free, which connects riders to the MBTA’s Red Line. In terms of other modes of transportation, both the Sullivan Square and Bunker Hill T stations are nearby, in addition to the harbor ferry service.
