Plopped in the middle of sprawling lawns, fields of yellow wildflowers, stone walls, and manicured gardens, this custom-built stone manor sits just 30 minutes outside Boston.

The estate at 151 Plympton Road in Sudbury includes a manor house, a barn-style guest house, tennis courts, hiking trails, hayfields, and gardens.

The original owners, who built the home in 2005, took great care in adhering to the federal style, listing agent Avery Chaplin said. Though the home includes modern luxuries such as a sauna, automation, and heated garages, it also features period details such as copper gutters, oak floors, and push-button light switches.

The 12,091-square-foot main house has five bedrooms, including a guest room on the lower level; six full baths; three half baths; and an elevator. The master suite offers a fireplace (one of six in the home), a sitting room, and a balcony.

There’s a farmhouse sink, breakfast nook, and a candy display case in the kitchen, and the finished lower level includes a gym, storage space, a home theater, and wine cellar.

The barn-style guest house has one bedroom, 1.5 baths, and a loft that could be converted into a second bedroom, Chaplin said.

Seated behind the manor, a sunken garden is teeming with flowers and trees — an elegant fountain rests at its center.

The manor cannot be seen from the road, Chaplin said, and its expansive 24.16-acre lot creates privacy from every direction.

“Every view from every window in the house is your private oasis view,” Chaplin said, noting that the property was intentionally designed and landscaped to offer varying vistas from anywhere in the home.

The road up to the house is surrounded by hayfields, and a large circular driveway sits at the manor’s entrance. Lighted paths lead  to the tennis court and a gardening cottage.

The home hit the market for $6,500,000 on Wednesday. Chaplin and his mother, Diana, of Chaplin Partners are the listing agents.
