Lexington ranked No. 1 place to live in Massachusetts

If you live in Lexington, you have new bragging rights.

Niche.com, a site dedicated to finding the right place to live, just released its 2017 list of the best places to live in Massachusetts. The site ranked locations by “overall livability,” using metrics such as education rate, cost of living, housing, public schools, diversity, commute time, safety, nightlife, and more.

Topping the list for the Bay State is Lexington, which received an A+ for public schools and being good for families, an A- for crime and safety and diversity, a B+ for housing, and a B for nightlife.

Data came from the Census, FBI, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as reviews from actual residents.

Following close behind in Massachusetts is Sharon, Sudbury, Newton, Wayland, Belmont, Boxborough, Wellesley, Brookline, and Weston.

Cambridge made it’s way onto Niche’s 2017 list of the best cities to live in America, ranking No. 11 out of 228.

Cambridge received an A+ for public schools, being good for families, and nightlife; an A for diversity; and a C+ for both housing and crime and safety.
