Ahead of Game 3 between the Canadiens and Bruins, spectators were dazzled by a impressive pregame performance.
With a montage of images showing on the ice at the Bell Centre, a torch was skated across the rink, and a roaring crowd, it was like something from the Olympic opening ceremonies.
This is pretty much the coolest thing I've ever seen. Hey Bruins, maybe take some notes on game presentation?— Amalie Benjamin (@AmalieBenjamin) May 6, 2014
Montreal’s pregame routines are becoming legendary. Here is a video of their Game 3 against the Lightning.
The show is the work of a small company 4u2C, owned by Yves Aucoin and Stéphane Mongeau, which the Canadiens hired to up the pre-game ante. The Montreal Gazette has the details:
Because 4U2C is a joint venture between Cirque du Soleil and Solotech, a Montreal-based audiovisual company that caters to many of the city's major cultural and sporting promoters, Aucoin and Mongeau had access to nearly any kind of equipment they needed.
We can’t let the Habs have all the glory can we? It’s about time for Boston to upgrade its pregame efforts – and then win on the ice, of course.
