The Bruins on Wednesday recalled forward Karson Kuhlman from AHL Providence. Kuhlman will join the team for its five-game road trip beginning Friday in Anaheim, Calif.

The move comes one day after the team announced that right winger David Pastrnak underwent thumb surgery and will be out at least two weeks.

Kuhlman, who signed a two-year deal with the organization last April, has played in 50 games for Providence this season, tallying a 12-13—25 line.

He helped lead Minnesota-Duluth to an NCAA championship before signing with the Bruins.
