Ainge named Executive of the Year

Celtics GM Danny Ainge has been named 2007-08 NBA Executive of the Year by the Sporting News.

The magazine polled general managers and executives from all 30 NBA teams. Ainge received 18 of the 47 votes cast, beating out Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak, who had 14 votes.

In case you forgot, Ainge transformed a 24-win team from last season and brought in Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, James Posey, Sam Cassell, P.J. Brown, and Eddie House. The Celtics had 66 wins in the regular season, best in the NBA.
