Kawhi Leonard may have won the Defensive Player of the Year last season, but if you ask Celtics president Danny Ainge, there’s no better perimeter defender than Celtics guard Avery Bradley.
With the Celtics up by one point on Utah with 30 seconds remaining Monday night, Bradley came up with a clutch block on Jazz swingman Gordon Hayward to help seal the 100-95 victory.
Ainge took to Twitter after the play to describe his feelings about his longest tenured player’s defensive abilities.
Bradley, in his sixth season in the league, currently sits top-25 in the NBA in steals per game (1.5), and previously won one NBA All-Defensive award, earning second-team honors in 2012-13.
