New Celtic Aron Baynes got a late introduction to basketball

The Celtics introduced Aron Baynes on Wednesday, and the Australian forward shared a notable fact with a group of kids attending a Celtics summer camp. Unlike the vast majority of his American counterparts, Baynes didn’t start playing basketball until he was in high school.

Addressing the campers after signing his contract, Baynes explained some of his basketball background. In that, he acknowledged that his introduction to basketball began after he was older than many of them currently are. Rugby was his initial focus:
