Tacko Fall became a Boston Celtics fan favorite almost overnight during NBA Summer League.

In fact, the Tacko Fall hype train has so much steam that according to Jeff Sherman, VP of Risk Management at Westgate, Fall now has more money wagered on him to win the 2019 NBA Rookie of the Year award than first overall pick Zion Williamson.

Saying Fall is an underdog to win Rookie of the Year is an understatement. Fall’s odds of winning the award are currently listed at +10,000, meaning if you bet $10 on those odds and won, you’d win $1,000. For reference, Williamson is the easy favorite to win Rookie of the Year right now according to the odds, which currently sit at -140. A $10 winning bet on those odds would win you $7.

The leader in money wagered for Rookie of the Year is Washington Wizards forward Rui Hachimura from Gonzaga University, and the leader in bets placed for the award is Denver Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr.

Fall signed a two-way contract with the Celtics earlier this summer, and will compete for an NBA roster spot in training camp this October.
