Update: Editor’s note: Due to the number of submissions already received, we are no longer accepting entries for this year’s race.

Boston Marathon runners: We know you have stories to tell, and we want to share what’s inspiring you to make the 26.2-mile trek from Hopkinton to Boston on April 16.

So we’re bringing back our “Why I’m running” series. Here’s how it works:

  • Marathon runners, let us know why you’re running the 2018 Boston Marathon in 300 words or less by emailing your story to Boston.com News Editor John Waller at john.waller@boston.com.
  • Please include your full name, age, location, and a photo.
  • We’ll publish your story, and share it on our social media accounts.
