Jeter out with injury

The Yankees have put former Red Sox second baseman Mark Bellhorn into the game at shortstop to start the bottom of the fourth. Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter was removed from the game for precautionary reasons after suffering a bruised right knee in the first inning, when he tried to stretch a Wall Ball single into a double to leadoff the game and was thrown out by Manny Ramirez. Bellhorn batted .216 with 7 home runs , 28 RBI and 109 strikeouts for Boston in 85 games this season before he was released on Aug. 26. The Yankees picked him up on Aug. 30. In eight games with New York, Bellhorn is batting .071 with a home run, two RBI and three strikeouts. He had two putouts in the fourth.
