Manny Ramirez’s three-run home run to center field off Scott Proctor in the fourth was his 45th of the season and 12th in his last 22 games. The 45 homers are the most he has hit since he joined the Red Sox in 2001 and equal his career high, set in 1998 with Cleveland. Only Jimmie Foxx (50), David Ortiz (47 this season) and Jim Rice (46) have hit more home runs in a Red Sox uniform in a single season.
