Red Sox

Back-to-back jacks

On runs batted in by Scott Podsednik and Tadahito Iguchi, the White Sox took a 2-0 lead on Tim Wakefield and the Red Sox in the third inning. Tony Graffanino led off the fourth with Boston’s first hit of the day, but was cut from the base paths on Johnny Damon’s double play.

It’s difficult to convey just how quiet this crowd is today, as silent as anyone has heard in quite some time, certainly for a playoff game.

Of course, as I write that, David Oritz and Manny Ramirez hit back-to-back bombs to erase Chicago’s lead, and yes indeed, the old place sounds back to normal now.
