Notes: Mike Napoli has gone deep in each of Boston’s last 2 games, with solo shots in the 4th inning last night off Felix Hernandez and in the 5th inning on Sunday off Tommy Milone…Napoli last homered in as many as 3 straight games when he did so in a career-high 5 consecutive games from 4/25-21/12 with TEX.In 16 games since returning from the DL on 6/8, Napoli has a .310 AVG/.375 OBP/.552 SLG/.927 OPS line…His 4 homers in that time are tied with David Ortiz for the most on the team, and 1 shy of the MLB lead (6 players with 5 HR)…Ortiz is approaching his 1,000th career extra-base hit…With 530 doubles, 18 triples, and 448 home runs, he is 4 XBH shy of becoming the 36th player to reach the mark, the 16th left-handed hitter…Only 11 other players have ever tallied both as many doubles (530) and homers (448) as Ortiz right now…Red Sox prospects Mookie Betts and Henry Owens were named today to the Sirius XM Futures Game’s World Team roster.
