And comeback goes on for Grady Sizemore.

The former Red Sox outfielder signed a minor league deal with the Phillies Tuesday and will be reporting to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Thursday.

The 31-year-old Sizemrore had been attempting a comeback with the Red Sox after being out of baseball for two years with an assortment of injuries. He batted only .216 with 2 home runs and 15 RBIs with 5 stolen bases in 52 games patrolling the outfield for Boston.

The Red Sox designated Sizemore for assignment on June 17 and released outright the next day.

“Grady Sizemore is about all the good things in this game,” Red Sox manager John Farrell said last week. “From his performance, to the person he is, to his work ethic, the way he plays the game — he’s an exceptional person.”
