Hurricane Arthur Postpones Red Sox-O’s

Due to inclement weather associated with Hurricane Arthur, the Red Sox have decided to postpone their July 4 matchup with the Baltimore Orioles, the team announced Friday morning.
Current forecasts that call for heavy rain showers throughout Friday afternoon and evening contributed to the decision. The National Weather Service has also issued a flash flood watch for Boston and Southern New England.
The postponed game will be made up as part of a day-night doubleheader on Saturday, with the first game being played at 1:05 p.m. and the second being played at 7:15 p.m. Tickets from today’s game will be good for Game 1 on Saturday.
The first game on Saturday will be broadcast on NESN, while the second will be broadcast on FOX. Both games can be heard on the radio on 93.7 WEEI.
Jon Lester, who was scheduled to start Friday’s game, will start Game 1 on Saturday, while John Lackey will make his regularly scheduled start in the nightcap. The starting pitchers for the Orioles have yet to be determined.
