The Red Sox have dropped six of their last seven games and look to get back on the winning track against the White Sox in the second game of a four-game set at Fenway tonight.

Notes: The Red Sox are a season-high 11 games under .500 coming into tonight’s game… Workman was hammered by the Cubs in his last outing, giving up six runs, five hits, and three walks in four innings of a 16-9 drubbing by Chicago. He’s allowed 10 earned runs in his last 11 innings of work…. White Sox lefty John Danks has held opponents to two runs or fewer seven times in his last eight starts. The southpaw is 3-6 with a 4.97 ERA in 10 matchups with the Red Sox… David Ortiz is 6-for-20 with two homers off Danks… Will Middlebrooks, on the 15-day DL since May 17 with a fractured right index finger, went 1-for-3 with an RBI single while playing 5 innings at third base last night for the PawSox against Columbus… Red Sox prospect Sean Coyle has been named Double-A Eastern League Player of the Month for June. Coyle hit .348 with 6 home runs and 22 RBIs last month… Shane Victorino begins another rehab stint with Single-A Lowell starting on Wednesday.
