Game 92 Lineups: Stephen Drew Back in at Shortstop

The Red Sox of the Future will end the 10-game homestand when they take on the White Sox in the final game of the four-game set at Fenway in a 4 p.m. start. But the shortstop of the present is the embattled Stephen Drew as Brock Holt moves over to third base this afternoon. Xander Bogaerts gets the afternoon off.

Notes: The Red Sox are 9.5 games out in the AL East heading into this afternoons game against the ChiSox… The Red Sox put out five starters who were 25 years old or younger last night (Bogaerts, Bradley Jr., Betts, Vazquez, and De La Rosa). That was the most since were their most since youngsters Jeff McNeely, Mo Vaughn, Greg Blosser, Scott Cooper, John Flaherty were in the starting liineup against the Brewers on Oct. 1, 1993… Jon Lester is 0-2 with an 8.82 ERA in three starts against the White Sox at Fenway but he 3-0 with a 0.96 ERA over his last five starts, reaching the eighth inning in four of them… Quintana has pitched well recently, going 2-0 with a 0.94 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 28 2/3 innings over his last four starts. The southpaw has thrown 15 2/3 consecutive scoreless innings… Will Middlebrooks has hit safely in 6 of 7 rehab games with the PawSox…. This year’s Future’s at Fenway game on Sunday, July 13 is between the Red Sox Class A affiliate Lowell Spinners and the Mahoning Valley Scrappers of Niles, Ohio, and will include a special 25th anniversary presentation of the classic baseball film “Field of Dreams” at Fenway Park, which plays a pivotal role in the original movie.
