Yankees Trade for Chase Headley

The Yankees made an upside gamble Thursday, acquiring third baseman Chase Headley and cash from the Padres in exchange for infielder Yangervis Solarte and pitcher Rafael De Paula.

Headley has the potential to be an impact bat. In 2012, he hit 31 home runs and led the National League with 115 RBIs. He’s scuffled and struggled with various injuries since then. This year, Headley is hitting .229 with seven home runs.
