Every MLB Player Should Give Interviews Like Munenori Kawasaki

Kawasaki.jpg

Munenori Kawasaki is a light-hitting infielder for the Toronto Blue Jays who has played in just 32 games during the 2014 season. Kawasaki may not play a lot, but his interviews have become must-see TV.

I’ll admit to laughing out loud during the first clip, in which Kawasaki describes an injury he had in a blunt manner more players should take:

In the second clip, Kawasaki discusses Red Sox DH David Ortiz, referring to himself as “Little Papi” and quoting basketball legend Michael Jordan.

Kawasaki is obviously a ham, and his act is a little over the top, but considering the language barrier and the lack of personality in professional sports, he’s a breath of fresh air.
