Notes: Workman has picked up a loss in each of his last three starts for the Red Sox before being sent down to Pawtucket on July 8. The righthander is 1-3 with a 4.50 ERA in eight big league starts overall this season. The only time Workman faced the Jays was in relief last season… Buehrle stared the season red-hot but the veteran southpaw has not won a game since June 1. In his last outing, Buehrle was rocked for six runs and nine hits in Yankee Stadium, his worst start of the season to date. He’s 0-6 with a 4.83 ERA in his last nine starts. Buehrle is 1-1 with a 5.84 ERA in two outings against the Red Sox in 2014…Jonny Gomes has a pinch-hit in the last three Red Sox games. He’s reached base safely in half of his 50 plate appearances as a pinch-hitter since joining the Red Sox in 2013… Melky Cabrera is batting .388 against the Red Sox this season.
