Mike Napoli was an essential member of the World Series-winning 2013 Red Sox. But Sox general manager Ben Cherington put it best, when he told CSNNE.com, “It hasn’t worked out quite as well since then.’’

After that title, Napoli’s tenure with the Red Sox was wraught with inconsistency and injuries. His three-year stint with the Red Sox ended on Friday, when the team announced the first baseman was traded back to the Texas Rangers.
