New Yorkers might have to deal with a David Ortiz tribute bench in Central Park
Your 'Bench Coordinator' is Fox Sports' Katie Nolan.
From golf carts to cowboy hats, the gifts keep coming for David Ortiz during his farewell tour. Fox Sports’ Katie Nolan had an outside-the-batter’s-box idea for a tribute that might not go over so well with Yankees fans: The host of FS1’s Garbage Time wants to get Ortiz a bench in New York City’s Central Park.

More than 6,000 of the 9,000 benches in Central Park have been dedicated through the Adopt-A-Bench program. If Nolan, an unabashed Boston sports fan, gets her way, Big Papi will soon have a bench named in his honor.
The initial response among Red Sox fans was so enthusiastic that Central Park Conservancy’s website could not keep up.
BENCH UPDATE: We're working with @CentralParkNYC to get the site back up. They've been great, just overwhelmed by your response. Sit tight.
