David Ortiz’s message of unity: ‘Choose love’

'Let's be kind to each other'

The words “We Are One” were displayed on the video board at Fenway Park before Tuesday’s Red Sox-Giants game. Hours after a police officer was killed in a drive-by shooting in Kansas, and one day after a Police shooting in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, local police officers, civic leaders, and clergy filed onto the field for a moment of silence.

Afterward, David Ortiz stepped up to the microphone.
