Watch Fenway Park’s standing ovation as the Red Sox honor Jerry Remy

The Red Sox honored NESN television analyst Jerry Remy in a pregame ceremony at Fenway Park on Sunday. And the Fenway Faithful responded to his introduction.

As he walked out of the dugout for the ceremony, Red Sox fans let their appreciation be heard:

In his 30th season as a Red Sox commentator, Remy was honored by the team as he prepares for his fifth battle against lung cancer. He will begin a new round of treatments on Tuesday.

Of course, that didn’t stop the upbeat Remy from predicting his return:

Remy said afterward that he expects his chemotherapy to last three months. He was awed by the crowd’s reaction during the ceremony:
