The Red Sox won the 2018 World Series title with a 5-1 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium Sunday night.

Here’s how it happened, inning-by-inning:

Ninth inning: Red Sox 5, Dodgers 1.

Bottom: Chris Sale came in for the ninth. Justin Turner struck out swinging for the first out, Kike Hernandez struck out swinging for the second, and Manny Machado struck out swinging for the third.

Top: Kenley Jansen replaced Baez on the mound. Xander Bogaerts walked on six pitches to put a runner on first. Brock Holt hit into a double play, and Rafael Devers grounded out to end the inning.

Eighth inning: Red Sox 5, Dodgers 1.

Bottom: Price came back out for the eighth and walked Chris Taylor on six pitches. With one on and nobody out, Joe Kelly relieved Price and struck out Matt Kemp, who was pinch-hitting for Austin Barnes. Joc Pederson, pinch-hitting for Baez, worked a 3-2 count and struck out looking. Cody Bellinger, pinch-hitting for David Freese, struck out swinging to end the inning.

Top: Pedro Baez replaced Kershaw on the mound. After Mookie Betts flied out and Andrew Benintendi popped out, Steve Pearce homered to center field for his second of the night. J.D. Martinez struck out swinging to end the inning.

Seventh inning: Red Sox 4, Dodgers 1.

Bottom: Price stayed on the mound and retired the side in order: Manny Machado lined out, Max Muncy flied out, and Yasiel Puig grounded out. Price’s pitch count: 83.

Top: Kershaw remained in the game and gave up a solo homer to J.D. Martinez to open the inning. Xander Bogaerts then singled to left. Bogaerts was forced out on a grounder by Brock Holt, and Holt reached first. Rafael Devers singled up the middle to put runners on first and second with one out. Christian Vazquez struck out swinging, and Price grounded into a force-out to end the inning.

Sixth inning: Red Sox 3, Dodgers 1.

Bottom: Price retired the side in order for the third straight inning: David Freese grounded out, Justin Turner lined out to left, and Kike Hernandez grounded out.

Top: After Price grounded out, Mookie Betts hit a solo homer to extend Boston’s lead to 3-1. Andrew Benintendi grounded out and Steve Pearce lined out to end the inning.

Fifth inning: Red Sox 2, Dodgers 1.

Bottom: Price retired the side in order: Chris Taylor struck out swinging for Price’s fifth strikeout of the night, Austin Barnes grounded out, and Clayton Kershaw was tagged out.

Top: Kershaw retired the side in order: Brock Holt lined out, Rafael Devers struck out looking, and Christian Vazquez lined out.

Fourth inning: Red Sox 2, Dodgers 1.

Bottom: Price retired the side in order: Manny Machado struck out swinging, Max Muncy flied out to center, and Yasiel Puig lined out.

Top: Steve Pearce grounded out. J.D. Martinez reached first on a single that floated over the glove of Manny Machado into left. Xander Bogaerts then grounded into an inning-ending double play.

Third inning: Red Sox 2, Dodgers 1.

Bottom: After Kershaw grounded out, J.D. Martinez misjudged a high fly ball from David Freese that sailed over his head and rolled onto the right-field warning track. Freese reached third on the play. Justin Turner then grounded out. Martinez caught a fly ball from Kike Hernandez to end the inning and strand Freese.

Bottom: On David Price’s first pitch of the game, David Freese blasted a solo bomb to right-center. Price then walked Justin Turner on five pitches, but Kike Hernandez grounded into a double play. Manny Machado worked a 3-2 count and struck out swinging to end the inning.

Top: After Mookie Betts grounded out, Andrew Benintendi reached base on a single up the middle. Steve Pearce homered on the first pitch he got from Clayton Kershaw to drive in Benintendi and put two runs on the board. J.D. Martinez grounded out and Xander Bogaerts struck out swinging to end the inning.
