The Red Sox called up top prospect Michael Chavis
Eduardo Núñez was placed on the 10-day disabled list. Tzu-Wei Lin joins Chavis with the MLB club.
The Red Sox made a few roster moves before Friday night’s series opener against the Rays in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Infielder Eduardo Núñez was placed on the 10-day injured list with a back strain, retroactive to Thursday; infielders Tzu-Wei Lin and Michael Chavis were recalled from Pawtucket; right-handed pitcher Erasmo Ramirez was designated for assignment.

Ramirez made one appearance after being called up earlier this week. In three innings of relief against the Yankees in New York Tuesday, he allowed four runs on four hits and a walk. Two of the hits were home runs.
