Every time Red Sox ace Garrett Crochet takes the mound, another crochet artist goes to work in a different manner.
Anna Gailbreath makes progress on a sweater during each of his starts. She only crochets when Crochet is on the hill, and immediately stops when a reliever enters the game.

Me: 6 rows down (34 total)
maybe not the start we wanted from crochet but it happens! absolutely nothing could ruin my amazing mood today – thank you SO much to @NESN and @RedSox for the unbelievable day! ☺️ pic.twitter.com/caPbHYm5NL
Gailbreath joined the NESN studio Thursday to discuss her latest project. She said she uses stitch markers to indicate where each start ends and another begins.
“I can go through and count the stitch markers,” Gailbreath said. “Hopefully there’s 30 of them at the end of the season.”

She gets about a row done per inning, and when Crochet tossed a near no-hitter earlier this season, she found sustained success as well and finished eight rows.
“My idea was to wear the sweater, hopefully, to a playoff game this postseason,” Gaibreath said. “I wanted it to be something I could actually get done.”

"I'm getting about a row done per inning… it's going to be a sweater."
We'll try to keep an eye on @rockmeannadeus's progress throughout this one 👀 pic.twitter.com/518V7vqjtk
Gailbreath acknowledged working on the task at Fenway Park is a bit less comfortable than doing so at home, but she’s enjoyed interactions with fans in recent weeks.
If she finishes the sweater, she’s considering a matching bandana or socks to complement the marquee item.
