Sturm looking good

Marco Sturm (neck) felt good after the morning skate and should be back in the lineup tonight.

“He feels good,” Claude Julien said. “If he comes in tonight and he’s still feeling great, we’ll still see him in the lineup. I’ll make that game-time decision and we’ll see how he feels when he shows up tonight.”

Julien said that because of Sturm’s absence, the left wing might not be thrown into every situation right away. Julien cited the upcoming schedule, which has the Bruins playing on Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday. Sturm will most likely skate on the fourth line with Stephane Yelle and Shawn Thornton.

* Aaron Ward (ankle) and Petteri Nokelainen (upper body) skated this morning before their teammates hit the ice. “It’s another step toward getting better,” Julien said of Ward. “He and Nokie went on the ice together for a light skate. We’re trying to rebuild him to the point where we can get him back into the lineup and see if he can last more than a shift.”

* Tim Thomas was the first goalie off the ice, indicating he will start tonight.

* P.J. Axelsson’s father took in the morning skate. The senior Axelsson is a dead ringer for his son. They even look about the same age.
