GM Peter Chiarelli didn’t have much of a problem with Maxim Lapierre going after Phil Kessel after the winger scored the empty-net goal.

But Chiarelli has made the league aware of Mike Komisarek’s post-game tangle with Matt Hunwick, which he termed “an eye gouge.” According to Chiarelli, Komisarek dropped his left glove and groped at Hunwick’s right eye with a bare hand. Hunwick required sutures around the eye to repair the damage, said Chiarelli.

“It looked like he eye-gouged him,” Chiarelli said. “That’s all I’ll say about that. I’ll let the league decide if there should be punishment.”
