Still waiting for an opponent

It’s been five days since the Bruins wrapped up a spot in the Eastern Conference semifinals, and we still don’t know who they’ll be facing.

Bruins fans will get some closure on Tuesday night, when a pair of Game 7s — Rangers at Capitals and Hurricanes at Devils — will determine Boston’s foe. Here is how it breaks down:

  • If the Rangers beat the Capitals, the Bruins will face the Rangers.
  • If the Rangers lose to the Capitals and the Hurricanes beat the Devils, the Bruins will face the Hurricanes.
  • If both the Rangers and Hurricanes lose, the Bruins will face the Penguins.
