After watching a so-so practice and scrimmage yesterday, Claude Julien saw his players go through a much crisper on-ice session today.
“We were OK. I would leave it at that. Just OK,” Julien said of yesterday’s practice. “Which, in my mind, was kind of normal. You’re sitting here and you don’t even know who you’re playing. You saw that once the guys came in the dressing room this morning, they were excited. They even said they were excited, because they at least knew who their opponents were. In practice, there was a lot more jump and a lot more life.”
Julien brushed off his team’s 4-0-0 record against the Hurricanes in the regular season, noting how they have found the sweet spot of their game since finishing out their games against the Bruins.
* Andrew Ference is likely to play in Friday’s Game 1. Ference has been out since April 4.
