Ference: ‘Not a good spectator’

Andrew Ference, out since April 4, should be back in uniform tonight. Ference will be a game-time decision, but it’s looking like he will be a go for Game 1.

“I’m excited,” said Ference. “I’m not a good spectator.”

* Claude Julien used Vancouver, which scored three straight goals against Chicago last night, as a good model for the Bruins to follow. The Canucks were coming off a long layoff after sweeping St. Louis in the first round. “Everybody’s wondering whether we’re going to be rested or rusty,” Julien said. “I think Vancouver is a great example to take. They came out and played well in the first period. I’m expecting our players to feel the same way — that we can come out and play the way we know we can. Put all the excuses aside.”

* The Hurricanes are not skating this morning.
