Professional wrestler Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake is becoming a familiar face in the Garden for Bruins’ home games. A friend of the training staff, we spotted Beefcake and his family outside the Bruins’ locker room after Sunday’s Game 5 victory.
It only makes sense that a guy with the stage name Brutus Beefcake (real name Ed Leslie) would like the B’s (though, we’d be remiss if we didn’t point out that Beefcake and tag-team partner Greg “The Hammer” Valentine lost both matches they competed in against another sort of The Killer Bees). Beefcake, who the Globe reported in 2007 was living in Winchester and working for a local pool supplies store, is slowly growing to be the team’s good-luck charm during the 2009 postseason.
But if Beefcake is going to be in attendance, can we make one suggestion? Let’s do away with the typical intermission interviews and have him host The Barber Shop segment like he used to do on WWF television. For those who don’t recall it, below you’ll find a YouTube video featuring the most memorable segment from the show, when Shawn Michaels threw Rockers tag-team partner Marty Jannetty through a plate-glass window.
